About The Author
PEDRO A CARDOZA
Pedro Cardoza was born in El Salvador during a time of civil war, poverty, and political violence. His childhood was shaped by displacement, loss, and the daily struggle to survive. At a young age, he was forced to leave school to work and help support his family, learning responsibility far earlier than most.
At eighteen, Pedro left El Salvador and made a dangerous journey through Guatemala and Mexico, eventually arriving in the United States undocumented and alone. With no money, no English, and no legal status, he worked minimum-wage jobs, endured exploitation, and slowly built a life through determination and hard labor.
After years of struggle, Pedro became a business owner, earned legal residency, and later U.S. citizenship. His story is one of resilience, faith, and perseverance — written to honor his family, his roots, and the countless immigrants whose stories often go unheard.
